Transformers Animated Soundwave is rendered primarily in dark blue and gold, with design patterns applied to both his robot and SUV modes somewhat simulating the overt tape deck appearance of the Gen 1 Soundwave. Soundwave is partnered with a large black and red guitar that transforms into a fairly garish version of Laserbeak. Soundwave appears to support articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Soundwave specializes in capturing ambient noise and fashioning it into a destructive weapon; his abilities enable him to perform complex imitations and to control lesser robots. A logic-driven unit defined by cataclysmic ambition, Soundwave is understandably disgusted by the inferior human species and is eager to undermine the Decepticons’ cohabitation with the nasty flesh slugs. Soundwave joined the Decepticons to build a staging ground for his eventual ascension to power.
